At its April meeting, The 1772 Foundation, partnering with the Land Trust Alliance, awarded $787,000 in grants to 17 land trusts protecting farmland within a 100-mile radius of Boston or New York City, the foodsheds of these cities.  Two more land trusts will receive funding when they have finalized purchase agreements.

In addition, The Livestock Conservancy and Seed Savers Exchange received grants of $50,000 and $29,900 respectively.
