2018 Farmland Protection Grants Awarded
At its quarterly meeting, The 1772 Foundation, partnering with the Land Trust Alliance, awarded $975,000 in grants to nine land trusts for 10 projects protecting farmland within a 100-mile radius of Boston or New York City or anywhere in the state of New Jersey. The purpose of this grant program is to support sustainable regional food systems by protecting critical farmland in the foodsheds of the two cities.
Grants ranged in amount from $14,000 to $215,000.
